  • MSIA Budget 2026 Recommendation
    MSIA consolidated key recommendations from Malaysia’s semiconductor and E&E industry for Budget 2026, reflecting industry priorities and measures to strengthen Malaysia’s competitiveness, investment environment, talent development and long-term growth. This document was submitted to the Government. Of these, 17 recommendations were aligned with measures subsequently announced by the Government.

  • Malaysia's Trade Performance
    Malaysia opened 2026 with record January trade. Total trade rose 12.6% to RM272.37 billion, exports climbed 19.6% to RM146.87 billion, imports increased 5.3% to RM125.50 billion, and the surplus surged to RM21.37 billion. E&E products drove growth, accounting for 48% of exports and jumping 39.5%, reinforcing Malaysia’s role in the global semiconductor supply chain. The US, EU and Hong Kong saw strong gains, while China remained central. Demand for machinery and intermediate goods stayed firm, signalling sustained industrial momentum.
