Meeting with Mr. David Fogel, U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and DG, U.S. Foreign Commercial Service

MSIA recently held a constructive discussion with Mr. David Fogel, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service.

The meeting focused on Malaysia’s Electrical & Electronics (E&E) and semiconductor ecosystem, highlighting the country’s strategic role within the global semiconductor value chain and its importance to supply chain resilience.

Mr. Fogel expressed interest in understanding Malaysia’s policy stance and priorities on 5G deployment (including vendor considerations) as well as the country’s approach to artificial intelligence (AI) development.

MSIA looks forward to continued engagement and dialogue with U.S. counterparts to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding in the semiconductor and advanced technology landscape.
