Mr. Naim Abdul Rahman is the Director of Electrical & Electronics, ICT, Machinery & Equipment Section of MATRADE. He has been working with MATRADE, the National Trade Promotion Agency of the Government of Malaysia for more than 20 years.
He has served as Malaysian Trade Commissioner in several countries such as in Indonesia (2014-2018), Singapore (2010-2013) and Saudi Arabia (2003-2008). He has been assigned in various portfolios covering markets like the Americas, Japan, Korea, ASEAN, Oceania and West Asia, as well as sectors like Lifestyle, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Professional and Construction Services. He also has experience in Exporters Development, focusing on internationalisation of Bumiputera and Women-owned companies. He underwent a Training Programme for Young Leaders in Community SME Development in Japan, under the International Cooperation Programme of the Government of Japan, organised by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 2009. He joined the Malaysian civil service in 1998 as an Assistant Director at the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a double major in Business Marketing and Human Resource Management from University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.
